Plasma is a Layer 1 blockchain designed specifically for stablecoin payments. It offers low-cost, fast stablecoin transfers and is EVM-compatible, supporting Solidity smart contracts. Plasma employs the PlasmaBFT consensus mechanism and separates validator nodes from non-validator nodes to enhance scalability. It enables zero-fee transfers via a built-in Paymaster and plans to introduce a Confidential Payment feature for privacy transactions.
